Description
The draft measure proposes to regulate Silver in cosmetic products, considering the latest opinion (SCCS/1687/25) of the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS), published on 24 April 2026, addressing the concerns related to its potential impact on human health. Given that Silver was previously regulated via Commission Regulation (EU) 2026/78 (OJ L, 2026/78, 13.1.2026, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2026/78/oj) that applies from 1 May 2026 and that the conditions laid down therein do not fully reflect the most recent scientific assessment of the SCCS, it is necessary to amend the relevant entries without delay.
